At the centre of my approach to therapy is the belief that there is wisdom in your experience. I will invite you to open into that wisdom to help you better navigate your life.
A trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship will always be the foundation of our work. I believe in working with you to develop goals, and approaches to those goals, that fit your life. I work with an appreciation of the complexity of your life, and your expertise. Through deepening understanding and facilitating emotional processing, my intention is to help you thrive in your life with self-compassion, flexibility, and confidence. I am committed to working with you in an integrated, empathetic, and empowering way.
I specialize in working one-on-one with trauma, grief, family and relationship challenges, self-criticism, anger, shame, health concerns, life transitions, depression and/or anxiety. I draw from Emotion-Focused, Mindfulness-Based, Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioural, and Motivational Interviewing approaches to therapy, and tailor treatment to clients’ needs.
I am a registered social worker (RSW), with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology (MA), and also a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW). Outside of private practice, I have worked for a grief counselling centre, a hospital psychiatry clinic, community-based youth programs, and an arts and mental health organization.
