Fees
It is important to me that you feel like you’ve found the right therapist, which is why I offer a 30-minute consultation free of charge. Please contact me by phone or email for information on my fees. I accept payment at each session by cash. I will provide receipts for all payments.
Cancellations
When we schedule a session, I reserve that time for you and appreciate as much notice as possible if you need to cancel. I require 48-hours notice for cancelled appointments. You will be charged for sessions missed without notice.
Insurance
Psychotherapy is not covered by OHIP unless provided by a medical doctor (MD). However, many extended insurance plans – offered by universities, employers, or private contracts, for example – do provide reimbursement for psychotherapy provided by a registered social worker (RSW) with a Master’s in Social Work (MSW).
To help you determine your coverage, contact your insurance provider with the following questions:
- Does my plan provide coverage for psychological or mental health services?
- What qualifications are required of the service provider?
- What is the maximum annual coverage for psychological or mental health services in a benefit year?
- Do I need to provide a referral from my physician to qualify for reimbursement?
*Therapy services provided by a registered social worker (RSW) can now be claimed as a medical expense tax deduction when you file your income tax. Also, services provided by a Registered Social Worker are HST exempt.*
